Let’s start with a trip to Eryri.
There are times when you just need an escape and a bit of time behind a camera and the joys of organising a few days away. I had not visited N.Wales for a few months and originally thought it would be a great option for some winter days on the mountains. The warm weather put paid to that idea. The winter boots and gear were left in the car!
I decided to head to the flanks of Pen Ole Wen and try and catch a sunset and some light on the mountains. The dipping sun down the Ogwen Valley would hopefully cast some light on the side of Tryfan.
For once the plan worked and I was lucky to get a few nice shots.
The following day I headed to Llyn Eigiau Reservoir, which involves a single track drive into the hills and a great walk into the area. Its was overcast but extremely quiet and remote. The sun broke through the clouds late in the day and I managed a few shots of “god light” over the hills.
No trip to N.Wales can end before a trip to Llandudno and a walk on the pier and a sunrise on the long pebbled beach. Reliving childhood memories of trips to N.Wales. The highlight was a chance to use my old Canon 1000FN with a roll of Ilford HP5 black and white film… old school.
Eryri, you never fail to deliver. We will return.
